A student earned a 93 on his precal final. Another student earned a 94 on his geometry final. Another student earned a 94 on a test. But, darn it, two students earned only a C+ on their math final in December 2011. They, however, go to a top private school, and have a hard teacher. They still pulled out Bs for the semester, which is good for them. Well done.

A student I tutor who goes to Kinkaid, a top private school in Houston, recently made a 92 on a geometry test. That rocks. I’m proud. Dang proud. As kids now-a-day say: that student is a beast!!

And another student I tutor who goes to Awty, another top private school in Houston, made a 100 on his last geometry test. Wow. That rocks.

Wow. Did a five hour tutoring session with a high school student (private school) for his final in precalculus tomorrow. It capped a long day. But he should have done this two or three days ago!! Then he would have had more time to assimilate, practice, memorize, and understand!!! But we have a life to live; we cannot always do everything in an optimum way.

An 8th grade student of mine who goes to a school in Klein ISD earned a 96 on his final exam!! Good job!!

And an 11th grader in the Woodlands earned a B in AB Calculus!!! Good job! That’s a tough course for an 11th grader!!

While tutoring a student at Barnes & Noble, a girl started talking to me. Come to find out, she was a student of mine about 15 years ago, when she was in 7th grade. She said I inspired her to study math — so now she has a Masters in math from *Rice* and is going to go for her PhD at *Rice*!!! Wow!!! I’m floored!!!

New Hourly Rates

Effective immediately, the hourly rate for private, individual tutoring will be increased to $60 per hour. Group rates will also increase; a fee schedule is available on the Pricing & Hourly Rates page of my Website.

Current students will be kept at the previous rates until June 1st, 2011; rates will increase for current students at that point.

A student I tutor received a 100 on a vocabulary quiz for the first time in his life. Awesome!! What’s more, and what’s much, much more important, he has learned the meaning of some vocabulary words, and how to reason and how to form concepts, like he will learn almost nowhere else.

For the first time in her life, a student I tutor received a grade on her math semester final higher than or equal to what she was making in class. She did this last December. And she is going to a top, rigorous private school. Congrats!
